Chris Stratton is headed to The Show.
The former Tupelo High School and Mississippi State ace, a first-round draft pick in 2012, got the call early Saturday to join up with the San Francisco Giants in Colorado today.
It’s the first time Stratton, long regarded as a top Giants prospect, been called up to the big-league active roster.
The timing for Stratton’s callup is interesting, as the Giants begin a four-game visit to Atlanta on Monday, then play a three-game series at St. Louis starting Friday.
