Mississippi State redshirt freshman quarterback Elijah Staley came to campus as a two-sport athlete but injured his knee making the transition to basketball last year and missed the entire season.
The 6-foot-6 former three-star forward still plans on playing both sports this year.
“I talked to coach (Ben) Howland last spring and he said to make sure I’m healthy and I can come back out there and try again,” Staley said.
Football coach Dan Mullen has no qualms sharing one of his athletes with another sport on campus.
“I’m great with it,” Mullen said.
