Jack Kruger and Cody Brown combined for all of the offense for No. 20 Mississippi State in its 4-2 win over UMass Lowell Friday night.
Both players were 3-for-3 at the plate with Kruger cranking out a solo homer run and two RBIs and Brown adding a double as the Diamond Dogs improved to 3-2.
All-American Dakota Hudson picked up his first win on the mound tossing six shutout innings and a career-best nine strikeouts. Blake Smith pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and struck out all four batters he faced for the save.
