Six Bulldogs honored by SEC

Mississippi State was well represented as the SEC Baseball Awards were announced on Monday.

John Cohen was named the SEC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career while outfielder Jake Mangum was selected as the SEC Freshman of the Year, the first Bulldog to ever receive the honor.

Mangum was also named first team All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC as well. The Jackson native led the conference with a .427 batting average and has 73 hits and a .479 on-base

Junior first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, junior designated hitter Jack Kruger and junior starting pitcher Dakota Hudson also earned a spot on the All-SEC first team while sophomore designated hitter Brent Rooker was picked to the second team.
