Garrett Shrader has quickly won over Mississippi State fans with his fearless, exciting brand of play. Now, the true freshman quarterback has added to his early resume by doing something no other first-year Bulldog quarterback has ever done.
After his role in helping MSU defeat Kentucky last Saturday, Shrader was picked as the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week the league announced on Monday. He’s the first-ever true freshman State quarterback to ever win the honor.
Shrader guided the Bulldogs to a 28-13 win over the Wildcats this past weekend as he accounted for 305 yards of total offense.
