SEC rewards Prescott as Player of the Week

Mississippi State senior quarterback Dak Prescott continues to shatter the school’s record books.

During Saturday’s 42-16 win over Kentucky, Prescott tied the MSU single-game record with six touchdowns and was acknowledged as the Offensive Player of the Week by the Southeastern Conference.

It was the fourth time Prescott has earned the honor from the SEC, which is also a school record.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder from Haughton, La., completed 25 of 35 passes for 348 yards, three touchdowns and one interception and also carried 13 times for 117 yards and three more scores.

Prescott is the first SEC signal caller to throw for over 300 yards and eclipse 100-yards rushing since Auburn’s Cam Newton in 2010.
