Mississippi State senior Fred Ross earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the nation’s most outstanding receiver.
Ross led the Southeastern Conference with 88 catches for 1,007 yards and five touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder from Tyler, Texas averaged 11.4 yards a catch and 77.5 yards per game in 2015.
For his career, Ross has made 127 grabs for 1,611 yards and 10 scores.
The Biletnikoff Award will be presented on Dec. 8 as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN. Baylor’s Corey Coleman claimed the award last year.
