After not having a single player selected in the 2015 MLB Draft, Mississippi State more than made up for it this year.

Redshirt sophomore right fielder Brent Rooker became the 11th Bulldogs to be taken in the draft when the Minnesota Twins picked him up in the 38th round (1,143rd overall) on Saturday.

It was the first time Rooker has been drafted and is the first MSU player selected by the Twins since David Hooten in 1996.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder from Germantown, Tennessee started 53 of the 58 games in which he played this season and led the team with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs.
