Junior left fielder/ pitcher Reid Humphreys became the second Mississippi State player picked in the 2016 MLB Draft on Friday.
Humphreys was selected in the seventh round (200th overall) by the Colorado Rockies. It was the second time the Brandon native has been drafted after being taken in the 36th round by the Washington Nationals out of Northwest Rankin in 2013.
The Rockies drafted Humphreys as a pitcher and his slot value sits at $227,400.
Entering Friday’s Super Regional game against Arizona, Humphreys led the Bulldogs with seven saves. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound right-hander is 0-1 with a 5.
