Mississippi State cornerback Chris Stamps will transfer to Northwest Mississippi Community College, multiple outlets reported Saturday.
Stamps, a redshirt freshman last season, leaves the Bulldogs after two seasons at the school. After redshirting in 2015, he played in nine games last season as a reserve.
Stamps, who is 6-foot and 182 pounds, finishes his Mississippi State career with two tackles.
During spring practice, Stamps worked primarily on the third-team defense.
Stamps, from Vicksburg (Miss.) Warren Central, was a three-star prospect in the 2015 recruiting cycle. He chose the Bulldogs over Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Southern Miss and Washington State.
