The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be making a rare Northeast road trip to play UMass in Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, in 2016, according to the Gazette Net.
In return for the away game, the Bulldogs will play the Minutemen at home in Starkville in 2017 and 2020. Mississippi State was forced to quickly find an opponent for next season after Tulane recently dropped the Bulldogs from their 2016 schedule.
The game scheduled against UMass will not only satisfy the whole in the schedule, it will allow Mississippi State a chance to play in an NFL stadium in an area few SEC teams have gained exposure in.
