Malik Newman declared for the NBA Draft back in March only to pull his name out before last week’s deadline to return to college.
However, that college will not be Mississippi State.
According to a report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Newman has asked the Bulldogs for his release and intends to transfer.
The 6-foot-3 guard played in 29 games as a true freshman at MSU last season with 22 starts. Newman finished fourth on the team averaging 11.3 points but was hampered by turf toe, back and knee injuries throughout the season.
