Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott was picked as one of 78 players on the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy on Wednesday.
The Wuerffel Trophy is named after former Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel of Florida and is awarded to the FBS player that combines exemplary community service along with athletic and academic achievement.
Prescott broke 12 MSU records in 2014. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder from Haughton, La., completed 61.6 percent of his passes for 3,449 yards, 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while rushing for an additional 986 yards and 14 more scores. He also caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
