Mississippi State senior Dak Prescott is among the 12 finalists for the Manning Award, presented annually to the nation’s top quarterback. It is the only national award that takes the quarterback’s bowl performance into consideration.
Prescott was also a finalist for the Manning Award last year, which went to former Oregon signal caller Marcus Mariota.
This season, Prescott completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 3,413 yards, 25 touchdowns and four interceptions while also adding 541 more yards and 10 scores on the ground.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder from Haughton, La., is one of three SEC quarterbacks named as a finalists along with Arkansas’ Brandon Allen and Ole Miss’ Chad Kelly.
