Dak Prescott didn’t get to hoist the Egg Bowl trophy on Saturday, but Mississippi State’s illustrious senior quarterback will have the chance to hoist some hardware on Tuesday.
Prescott, along with nine other players from around the state, will be in Jackson Tuesday for the presentation of the 2015 C Spire Conerly Trophy. The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum will host the ceremony which begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. before the banquet at 6:30 p.m.
The Conerly Trophy is presented annually to Mississippi’s most outstanding college football player.
In addition to Prescott, Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens, Mississippi Valley State safety Marquis Green, Mississippi College wide receiver Marcel Newson, Alcorn State running back Darryan Ragsdale, Millsaps College linebacker Hector Sandoval, Belhaven University cornerback Isaiah Swopes, Jackson State defensive end Javancy Jones and Delta State wide receiver Jarvis York are also in the running for the honor.
