Mississippi State’s Peyton Plumlee has been paving his road to redemption all season long. On Sunday night, it merged straight into the road to Omaha.
Plumlee, MSU’s senior pitcher who was suspended all of last season after failing an NCAA drug test, continued what has been a storybook comeback year on Sunday as he hurled 6.2 dominant innings to lead the Bulldogs back to the College World Series. Behind Plumlee’s right arm, the Bulldogs defeated Stanford 8-1 to sweep the Starkville Super Regional and advance to the grandest stage in all of college baseball.
