When the NCAA and Mississippi State announced a negotiated resolution on Friday that put MSU’s football and men’s basketball programs on three years of probation among numerous other penalties because of academic misconduct, there was one punishment not addressed – player suspensions are coming this season for the Bulldogs.
On Monday, Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead met with the media for the first time since Friday’s landscape-altering announcement. It was his first chance to provide clarity to a situation that is clouded because of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
