The Mississippi State football team will be making its first ever appearance in the Outback Bowl on January 1, 2019. The Bulldogs will finally get to make their trip to Tampa after the bowl notoriously snubbed the Bulldogs way back in 1999.
Awaiting the Mississippi State football team in Tampa will be the Iowa Hawkeyes from the Big 10 Conference. Iowa finished the regular season 8-4 overall and 5-4 in the Big 10. They were the second place team in the Big 10 West.
The early line on the game according to the Vegas oddsmakers has put the Mississippi State football team as the early favorite.
