High school football state playoffs either have ended or are winding down in the states wth SEC teams, and this season’s state finals in Mississippi will be played in Oxford.
Last year, the state of Mississippi adopted the model used in Alabama and started rotating the finals between the two big campuses in the state. In Mississippi, that means Mississippi State and Ole Miss will alternate as host sites; in Alabama, Alabama and Auburn alternate as hosts.
The state finals in South Carolina also are on the campus of an SEC school, at the Gamecocks’ Williams-Brice Stadium.
