PEARL, Miss. — The No. 9 Mississippi State baseball program claimed its fourth straight Governor’s Cup with an 8-1 win over rival Ole Miss Tuesday night at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
MSU (33-9, 10-8 SEC) trailed 1-0 in the third inning, but scored eight unanswered runs between the fifth and eighth innings to lift the Dawgs to an 8-1 victory. Ole Miss (27-15, 10-8 SEC) outhit MSU 8-7, but only managed one run and left 12 runners on base in the loss.
In the bottom of the third inning, sophomore Anthony Servideo hit a one-out single through the ride side to put a runner on for the Rebels.
