STARKVILLE, Miss. — The No. 6 Mississippi State baseball team outhit Jackson State 10-2 en route to a 7-3 win Wednesday evening at Dudy Noble Field.
MSU (3-1, 0-0 SEC) left 11 stranded on base and was led by sophomore Kamren James with four hits and three RBIs. Senior Tanner Allen, junior Landon Jordan and sophomore Drew McGowan all finished with two hits apiece. Allen also recorded three runs.
The Bulldogs used seven pitchers in the game. Junior right-hander Brandon Smith (1-0) got the start and tossed two hitless innings with two strikeouts. Sophomore southpaw Davis Rokose then struck out four in two innings of work with no hits allowed.
