TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The No. 6 Mississippi State baseball team secured a series win over Alabama with a 7-0 win Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The Bulldogs (39-13, 19-10 SEC) scored one run in the second inning, three in the third, two in the fifth and one in the ninth. The pitching staff held the Crimson Tide (29-21, 12-16 SEC) to just three hits.
MSU starting pitcher Will Bednar (6-1) pitched eight innings and allowed three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks. Junior Brandon Smith tossed the ninth inning and struck out two of the three batters he faced.
