STARKVILLE, Miss. — The No. 6 Mississippi State baseball program is set to host Jackson State for its 2021 home opener Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT at Dudy Noble Field.
The Bulldogs (2-1, 0-0 SEC) are coming off two wins at the State Farm College Baseball Classic last weekend. MSU beat then-No. 9 Texas 8-3 and then-No. 4 Texas Tech 11-5. MSU dropped a 3-2 contest to then-No. 11 TCU. The wins mark the first time the Bulldogs opened the season with a pair of wins over ranked teams since 1993.
MSU outhit each of its three opponents, compiling 31 hits compared to 19 by the opposing teams.
