STARKVILLE, Miss. — Persistent rain shortened Mississippi State baseball’s home regular-season finale Tuesday night as the No. 6 Bulldogs topped Jacksonville State 6-1 in five innings at Dudy Noble Field.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 37-13 (17-10 SEC), while the Gamecocks fall to 24-26 (14-13 OVC).
MSU scored two runs in each of the first three innings. JSU scored its only run in the fourth inning. The game was canceled after 4 1⁄2 innings due to inclement weather.
Junior pitcher Parker Stinnett (1-0) made his first career start for MSU and got the win after tossing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts and four walks.
