STARKVILLE, Miss. — After dropping its first two Southeastern Conference games, the No. 24 Mississippi State men’s basketball team closed out its two-game homestand with a 71-68 win over SEC foe Florida Gators Tuesday evening at Humphrey Coliseum.
With the score tied, Bulldogs’ Quinndary Weatherspoon hit a layup and free throw to give MSU a 71-68 lead. He now has five game-winning shots in his career.
The game-winning layup game after Florida’s Noah Locke tied the game on a six-footer with 10.2 seconds left.
Lamar Peters led the Bulldogs with 16 points on 5-12 shooting, including 4-8 from beyond the arc.
