No. 23 Mississippi State Softball Surges Past Illinois in Game One

In the first game of a doubleheader against Illinois, the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Illini 9 to 5. Mississippi State relied on a strong surge off offense early on to come away with the eventual 4 run victory.

In the first two innings of the game, Mississippi State pummeled Illini pitcher Emily Oestreich for a total of 8 runs. The Bulldogs put up their first 4 runs in the first inning thanks to two homers, both of which were two run home runs.
