STARKVILLE, Miss. — The No. 2 Mississippi State baseball team couldn’t get things going on Friday night as it fell 8-2 to No. 3 Arkansas in the first game of a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field.
The Bulldogs (17-5, 2-2 SEC) were outhit by a 10-4 margin. Freshman Lane Forsythe was 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Senior Rowdey Jordan finished 1-for-3 with one RBI, while junior Luke Hancock tallied one hit and one run.
MSU scored its two runs in the fifth and ninth innings, while Arkansas (17-3, 3-1 SEC) scored three in the top of the first inning, two in the fourth, two in the seventh and one in the ninth.
