CONWAY, S.C. — A first half surge by Villanova proved to be too much for Mississippi State as the Bulldogs fell 83-76 during Friday’s Myrtle Beach Invitational semifinal game at the HTC Center.
The Wildcats improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs drop to 5-1.
Senior guard Tyson Carter led the Bulldog charge with a team-high 22 points for the third 20-plus point game of the season. He shot 7-of-19 in the game.
