Mississippi State (5-7) finished off its regular season in grand fashion Saturday, hammering archrival Ole Miss 55-20 in the Egg Bowl. It’s Mississippi State’s second-largest victory margin in history, behind only the 36-point margin in 1916.

Nick Fitzgerald has a chance to be special
It hasn’t always been easy and even when fans and others called for Damien Williams early, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen stuck with sophomore quarterback Nick Fitzgerald and it’s paid off. Fitzgerald turned it on in the second half of the season and had a huge Egg Bowl.
