Mississippi State’s secondary received a crushing blow as projected NFL first round draft pick Will Redmond will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Coach Dan Mullen confirmed the news of Redmond’s injury appearing during an interview with Maria Taylor on “SEC Nation” on the SEC Network on Saturday morning. Mullen talked about the impact losing Redmond and previously injured senior safety Kendrick Market has on the secondary.
“Those are probably our two best players back there coming into the season,” Mullen said. “Kendrick Market is the emotional leader of the team and Will Redmond is a team captain, which is voted on by his teammates and has the respect of those guys.
