A total of 49 Mississippi State student-athletes were named to the 2015-16 First-Year Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Thursday.
The 49 Bulldogs span 13 sports (baseball, football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s golf, women’s golf, women’s soccer, softball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s track and field, women’s track and field and volleyball) and are part of a total 876 student-athletes named to the list across the 14 SEC schools.
Baseball and football placed an MSU-best eight on the list, with men’s track and field not far behind with seven. Softball had the most among women’s programs with five, as women’s soccer and women’s track and field each had four named.
