Mississippi lost one of its greatest gridiron ambassadors on Thursday.
Hall of Famer Tom Goode passed away at 76 leaving behind a legacy that will live on throughout the Magnolia State.
Goode was a standout at West Point High School before moving on to Mississippi State from 1958-60 where he was a two-time All-SEC selection and a 1960 Kodak All-American.
Goode was drafted in the second round (16th overall) by the Houston Oilers in the 1961 AFL Draft. He played professionally for nine years with the Oilers, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Colts appearing in 113 career games as a center, linebacker and long snapper with 55 starts.
