Former Madison Central standout Xavian Stapleton is returning to his native state.
Stapleton announced Sunday that he would be transferring to Mississippi State after spending his freshman season at Louisiana Tech.
The 6-foot-6, 190-pound small forward will enroll this week but will have to sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Stapleton will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Stapleton committed following an official visit to Starkville over the weekend. He also visited Alabama and Iowa State.
Stapleton appeared in 36 games and made one start last season earning C-USA Freshman of the Week once.
