FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., – Mississippi State returned to the win column thanks to a brilliant pitching performance Sunday afternoon.
After a quality start by Austin Sexton, Zac Houston closed the door as MSU knocked off No. 25 Arkansas 2-1 in the final game of a three-game Southeastern Conference series at Baum Stadium.
MSU snapped a six-game losing streak to improve to 23-21 overall and 7-14 in league play. Arkansas, which clinched its fifth straight conference series win Saturday, fell to 26-18 and 11-10. With three weeks left in the regular season, MSU is tied with Tennessee for the final spot in the SEC Tournament.
