On senior night, Mississippi State (23-24 and 7-16 SEC) dropped game two and the series to #1 LSU (40-7 and 16-6 SEC) by a margin of 11-4. The Bulldogs couldn’t keep up with or tame the Tiger offense as LSU compiled 17 hits to get their 11 runs. MSU’s 4 runs came off 8 hits.
Like last night, MSU’s was able to draw first blood. State scored their 1st run in the 1st frame as Wes Rea hit into a double play but was able to bring Jake Vickerson home. LSU would retaliate and take the lead by scoring 2 runs in the top of the 3rd and never looked back.
