Moreland donates towards stadium project

Last year, Mississippi State announced plans for a $40 million renovation to Dudy Noble Field.

Former Diamond Dog and Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland made a donation to further that concept into a reality.

Moreland, a native of Amory, donated $100,000 towards the project and will have the stadium’s new indoor batting cages named in his honor.

“Being a Diamond Dawg carries a lot of memories for me and I would not trade it for anything in the world,” Moreland said. “I am happy to be just one of many Bulldogs contributing to such an important project that will help MSU continue to stay atop the college baseball landscape.
