And the starting five for last year’s team had arguably endeared themselves to the Mississippi State fan base as much as any other group of players had in school history.
The 2017-18 Mississippi State basketball women’s team made a second consecutive memorable run in the NCAA Tournament. In the history of Mississippi State athletics, only one team had ever played for a national championship.
