As today’s game heavily favors guards, Aliyah Matharu has proven to be a formidable backcourt threat.
Though the Bulldogs did not have the season they hoped for, Matharu took advantage of each opportunity to show her skills on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Matharu is a threat both in and outside the paint. She is also a lethal shooter from distance.
Matharu averaged 10.2 points per game. She posted a season-high 19 points along with three steals at LSU. Look for Matharu to only improve under head coach Nikki McCray-Penson. Matharu was heavily relied on for a reason, as she has also emerged as a leader.
