STARKVILLE, Miss. – An eight-run third inning led the way for Mississippi State to down in-state rival no. 3 Ole Miss 13-3 in a Southeastern Conference series opening double header at Dudy Noble Field Friday afternoon. State dropped the second game 6-1.
The Diamond Dawgs are now 16-16 (3-8 SEC), while the Rebels are now 27-5 (7-4 SEC).
MSU and Ole Miss play again today with the series on the line. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. CT at Dudy Noble.
