The Mississippi State softball team claimed their first SEC series of the season. The Bulldogs went up to Columbia, Missouri and took two of their three games in the series away from the Tigers of Mizzou.
The Bulldogs relied heavily on their pitching depth and heavy hitting to come away with the 6-3 win today. Freshman Emily Williams earned her first SEC start of her career but only threw for 2.1 innings.
In the top of the third, senior Holly Ward stepped in and took control of the game. Ward went the rest of the game, throwing 69 total pitches in 4.
