For their “Cowbell Yell” on Thursday night, the Mississippi State Bulldogs gave us more cowbell. In fact, they gave us more cowbell than ever before.
According to a Guinness World Records official, 5,748 cowbells were heard tolling, a record that could only be set as an isolated event other than gameday since the 55,000 fans that take their seats make it too difficult to record.
The standing record to beat was administered over the pond in Switzerland in 2009, where 640 participants rattled their eardrums with cowbells.
Thanks to the 15,000+ MSU family members for attending #CowbellYell, including the 5,748 people who broke @GWR record pic.
