Mississippi State punter Logan Cooke joining Bulldogs baseball team as pitcher

Mississippi State baseball didn’t have to look far for its newest pitcher.

When the team held its first practice of the new season Friday, Mississippi State junior punter Logan Cooke was among the players listed on the roster.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Cooke was listed as a lefthander, though it’s unclear how he will be used.

According to his Mississippi State baseball biography page, Cooke was 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA and 39 strikeouts during his senior season at Columbia (Miss.) Academy. He also threw a one-hitter during that year’s postseason.
