In the second game of the Friday doubleheader, MSU was shutout in a pitcher's dual against Northwestern State.
Although Mississippi State's (13-3) pitching staff performed phenomenally, the Lady Bulldogs could not find a rhythm offensively as they split Friday night's doubleheader, losing to Northwestern State (12-5) 1-0. Mississippi State could only muster up two hits in 22 at bats against Lady Demons' starting pitcher Shelby Sells (4-3). Sells would go on to throw a complete game against the Bulldogs.
Freshman Regan Green got the start for Mississippi State (3-2) and threw 72 pitches over 5.0 innings, facing a total of 20 batters.
