2018 has been a turnaround year for the Mississippi State men’s basketball program. For the first time since 2012, the men’s basketball team has a winning record. Junior Quinndary Weatherspoon has been a key in the rebuild, and his play has been impressive this year.
For Weatherspoon’s efforts, the star guard has been awarded the Howell Award, given to the best men’s basketball player in the state of Mississippi. It is named after Mississippi State great Bailey Howell and is presented to the best men’s college basketball player in Mississippi.
