Mississippi State has its next defensive coordinator, and it’s a face that’s familiar to many fans from around the SEC.
The Bulldogs announced Wednesday that Todd Grantham is the school’s defensive coordinator. He replaces Peter Sirmon, who is expected to assume Grantham’s former post with the Cardinals in what amounts to a trade of coordinators.
Grantham served as defensive coordinator at Georgia under Mark Richt from 2010-13, when he left to join Bobby Petrino’s staff at Louisville. While at Georgia and Louisville, Grantham was also responsible for coaching linebackers, a job that he’ll also have in Starkville.
