After Brian Johnson left Mississippi State to head to Houston to be the offensive coordinator for the Cougars, it left the Bulldogs with a notable vacancy in the coaching staff. Sure, it’s a position that Dan Mullen could have devoted more time to work with on an individual level, but partitioning a head coach’s time even further can be difficult. Enter Brett Elliott.

Brett Elliott was, as Paul Jones mentions, formerly the offensive coordinator at Texas State and a grad assistant here in Starkville from 2012 to 2014.
