Two years ago, the Mississippi State football team was at a cross roads. The athletic department, led by Scott Stricklin, knew they had a chance to capitalize by selling commercials on the mega video boards at each end zone. They also could sell sponsorships to certain in game events. It was a great way to bolster the finances of the athletic department.
But in doing so, the atmosphere of the game was taking a huge hit. Our other co-editor Josh Barnhill wrote about this during the 2013 season. Josh brought a lot of attention to it as well when he was writing at FWtCT.
