It’s pretty obvious that Mississippi State women’s basketball is a national championship contender this season. After upsetting Uconn last year, everyone knew that this team would be back next year. I knew that they would be back, but did not expect this dominance all around.
On Wednesday night at Humphrey Coliseum, Mississippi State handled #9 Oregon 90-79. Many people thought that Oregon would be a difficult test for Mississippi State, but the Lady Bulldogs coasted right on through. Teaira McCowan and Victoria Vivians combined for a total of 65 points on Wednesday night. McCowan, the Lady Bulldog’s leading scorer, dropped 35 points and had 19 rebounds.
