Payton must take his game to a higher level for the Bulldogs to turn their season around, as he is one of the critical weapons in Mississippi State’s receiving corps.
Payton stands at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. He is a multipurpose receiver who can excel in both the slot and along the sidelines. Able to be used in many schemes, we have yet to see Payton’s full versatile skillset.
The competition is only getting to be more challenging for the Bulldogs, as Payton will need to be at his best come Saturday and beyond. Thus far, Payton has hauled in 15 catches for 188 yards and a touchdown, 122 of those yards coming against LSU, Payton’s lone 100 yard game of the year.
