It’s safe to say that the Mississippi State football team certainly needed to beat down the then 8th ranked Auburn Tigers. Had the Bulldogs lost, they would’ve fallen to 3-3 on the season and there would’ve been plenty of questions about how the rest of the year would go.
Instead, the Mississippi State Bulldogs took down a top ten ranked opponent and showed plenty of promise and potential. The losses to Kentucky and Florida still sting a bit, but right now, those losses don’t look anywhere near as bad as they once did. Part of that comes from MSU’s physically dominant win over Auburn and part of that is from the fact that Florida beat then No.
